The R5 is a single-stage, oil-lubricated rotary vane pump. It reaches an ultimate vacuum of 0.1 mbar and is built to run continuously, including at high ambient temperatures. That is why it sits inside traysealers, vacuum machines and thermoformers of practically every make.

We stock the parts too
An R5 lasts for years, provided the oil and filters are changed on time. We keep the vacuum oil in stock in our own packaging and supply the original service parts. We can also do the maintenance for you.

How a rotary vane pump works
Inside the housing turns a rotor that sits off-centre. Vanes in slots in that rotor are pushed outwards by the rotation and run against the wall. That creates chambers which grow on the inlet side and shrink on the outlet side: air is drawn in, compressed and pushed out.
The oil lubricates, cools and seals. On the outlet side that oil is separated out of the air in filters and fed back, so the pump runs on a closed oil circuit.
