The Challenge

The customer’s requirement was very clear: automatically weigh and vacuum-pack 5 kg bags of French fries. Nothing more, nothing less.

No wish list of functions that would never be used, no oversized specification to grow into one day. One job, done properly, at an investment that made sense for the business behind it.

That is exactly the kind of brief where proven second-hand machinery earns its place – provided someone takes responsibility for turning separate machines into one working line.

Built from Proven Machines, Rebuilt Around One Process

Together with one of our trusted partners, we assembled the complete line from carefully selected second-hand machines and equipment. Every machine was judged on its condition, on how well it suited the process and on how well it would work alongside the rest of the line.

All relevant components were then thoroughly refurbished by STC before they went anywhere near the installation.

Custom-built where the process asked for it

Not everything can be bought ready-made. Where the layout, the product flow or the customer’s process required it, equipment and components were custom-built and adapted specifically for this project. That in-between work – the transitions, the framework, the controls, the product handling – is what turns a collection of good machines into a production line.

Delivered Turnkey – and Still Running

STC took responsibility for the complete technical solution. The line was assembled, integrated, installed and commissioned in Portugal and handed over in full working order, to the customer’s satisfaction.

Thousands of bags later

The line has now been running for some time and continues to operate reliably. In the meantime the customer has packed thousands of bags of French fries on it.
